Attitude Determines Altitude When Finding Hope In Life

Finding Hope In Life

As we place our hope in God, we can be assured that He will lead us to a safe and purposeful place. When we trust Him, He is faithful to guide us. Even in times of distress, there is great hope in life. Let us make sure to hope rightly—hoping in the eternal, in things that can never perish. The Holy Scriptures in Jeremiah 17:7 say, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD.” This is the true way to hope: when we hope in God.

When we hope rightly, we hope wisely. The wisest way to hope is to place our hope in things that will never fail. If, as I hope, I am confident that what I hope for will be mine, then I can hope even unto death. To hope unto death is to hope beyond death, recognizing that life will always conquer death.

Hope Helps Us In Our Despair

Hope in God is the antidote to despair. To hope in Him is to see beyond the veils of the present. There is something heavenly about Godly hope, for as we hope, He gives us the strength to cope. From a broken yesterday, we stride into tomorrow through hope. We hope for a brighter day, a stronger marriage, or even a new beginning—it doesn’t matter what we hope for; what matters is finding the courage to keep hoping.

The basis of our hope is that even in death, hope breeds resurrection life.

Hope is like a bulb we carry, a light filled with life. When this light encounters darkness, the darkness is consumed, allowing us to see our way. There is power in our hope when we “Hope in God.” As the light of life meets the darkness of despair, life prevails through our hope. When we hope, we invoke life; when we lose hope, we allow death to take hold.

Hope is Life, When We Hope In God

When we place our hope in God, we place our hope in life itself. Hope is life. As we hold onto hope through times of darkness, we are affirming our hope in life. God is life, and Jesus proclaimed, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” If hope is life, then even in the face of death, it loses its hold as we keep hope alive. As we journey with hope, we will inevitably encounter challenges that feel like death. Some trials are so daunting that it may seem as if darkness will prevail. But when we walk through death with hope, we ultimately experience life triumphing over death.

Life and death cannot coexist, just as darkness and light cannot occupy the same space. It’s vital that we choose hope, for when we hope, we choose life over death. Many people carry the weight of the world on their shoulders, burdened by loads too heavy to bear. Yet Jesus offers us a light burden. Let us not lose hope because of our circumstances. Let us not carry the world on our heads. Since hope is life, let us choose to hope in life and continually declare, My hope is in God.

Being Faithful In What's Going On

Hoping in God means that we remain faithful in the midst of what’s going on. When we stay faithful in hard times, God will bring us into good times. I remember speaking with my mother on the phone one day. She sounded weary and frustrated by the ongoing drought. It hadn’t rained for quite a while. My mom wasn’t one to complain often, but this time she did, feeling a deep need and desperation for rain.

In due time if you faint not, God will send the rain.

A few days later, she shared, “We got some rain yesterday; it’s wonderful!” I could feel her joy, knowing how much she longed for rain, and now her wish had come true. I responded, “You should be very happy now,” to which she replied, “I’m very happy, to say the least.” In that moment, I sensed God teaching me a great spiritual life lesson. Just as the chinese bamboo tree remain faithful in dormancy, I learnt to be faithful during the drought while hoping for rain. In due time, at the right moment, God will send the rain. The God of the drought is the same God of the rain.

Concluding Thoughts

I implore you to embrace hope. Hope in the Lord and His unwavering faithfulness, for He is always with us, guiding us through our struggles. Don’t give up in the face of adversity; instead, strive to live up to the promise of a brighter tomorrow. Even when life feels overwhelming and your heart is heavy, remember that your brokenness does not define you.

It is in your vulnerability that you can discover true strength and resilience. Continue to nurture your hope in God, even if it feels like a struggle. It is through Godly hope that we find healing and renewal. Let every challenge be a stepping stone toward your purpose, and trust that every tear you shed will be transformed into a testimony of God’s grace. As you journey forward, carry your hope like a beacon of light, illuminating the path ahead. Be blessed.
