‘Come By’
Im heaven with a burden, You see!
Hear these groans that groan in me
The depression of my soul is nigh,
Come by, my Christ, come by.
Remind me oh God, of a Potter to clay,
Walk with me when it’s dark at day…
Hear my bellows blow, strings of praise,
My heart is weary, but dead you raise!
If a son should pour gall at your feet,
You are sure to make an agony sweet…
My tears they unite at heaven’s door,
For sure my God will save, for sure!
So meet me at my deepest tear,
Come near my Christ, come near
And if I forget, remind me again,
Still if I forget, remind me Lord again!
