As we think, we should think about what we are thinking, and we should seek to think right. There are ‘Bible Verses on Thoughts,’ that will help us in this endeavour. Thinking right is important because there is Power in our Thoughts, to the point where our thoughts will become our life. What we think, and continue to think, will be the factor that determines the direction in which we walk.
When I speak of thinking, I am only referring to thinking that is done in the heart. There are millions of thoughts that will rush across our minds, but it is only the thoughts that we allow to find root in us (as in ‘our hearts’), that will flourish and sprout.
What do you believe? The thing you believe, is the thing that you have allowed to find life in your heart. When I say heart, I speak about the inner core (or the engine) that drives us. I’m speaking of the breath of God that gives us consciousness, and causes us to find reasons for things. This breath has given us our individuality and our being, and the heart is this being, the ‘I Am’ that dwells in us.
Guard You Heart
As we explore the importance of our thoughts, let’s be adamant to guard the mind from which our thoughts flow. We should always be poised at the gate of our minds, and we should perpetually shield toxic thoughts from getting inside us. There is a popular saying that goes;
“An entire sea of water can’t sink a ship unless it gets inside the ship. Similarly, the negativity of the world can’t put you down unless you allow it to get inside you.”

If we can stand guard at the door of our heart, and constantly fight away the whilst of the enemy, then we can ultimately life an abundant life. As we think right, our reward will be a life void of negative influence, and full of the power of the Word of God.

Satan is after the Mind
The main reason why we should guard our hearts, is because satan is after our heart. Satan knows that if he can get inside our hearts, then he can rule our lives. Whatever and whoever gets inside our hearts, will gain the power to rule us.
In our modern world, we see the diabolic influences around us. Consider the media and what it allows to get inside the hearts of the people (especially our children). Pornography and profanity are the new norms in the media world, and this is the weapon of satan, to pervert our minds. As we see this reality, we should be vigilant in standing guard, and also to stand guard for our children, who are our future.
The truth is that God and Satan cannot dwell in one mind, and no one can serve two masters. We should as a result, determine who we are going to let into our hearts, and who we will allow to rule us.
For us as believers, there is no question about it, that God should be the engine that drives us, and God should be Who we let into our hearts. If we can do this one thing right, then we will get everything right. If the Law of God finds print on our heart, then our heart will be filled with love, and our lives will as a result manifest that representation.

Thinking Right is Serious Business
We should understand the great importance of thoughts and thinking. Whatever you think on, you welcome into your life. It is like a law or an equation, where whatever we put in, we get out. This is serious because it will determine the very life we live. Our thinking will determine everything about us. From the career we chose to the person we marry and from the movies we watch, to the music we listen.
