What Does The Bible Say About Fear?

Fear is so crippling, that it rids us of our ability to achieve our divine goals. When we look at ‘What The Bible Says About Fear,’ we can learn lessons that will empower us to live life more abundantly.

Fear is a key weapon of the enemy, and it goes against the very laws of nature that give. This is so important to understand because the Bible says that the enemy came to kill, to steal and to destroy. Isn’t this the same thing that fear does in our lives, kill, steal, destroy?

As we reflect on ‘What the Bible Says About Fear’, we should be keen in noticing the impacts fear can have on and in us. I often say to one of my friends, “Fear is the killer of our dreams.” I say this because nothing will steal from us more than fear will. This is the perfect reason God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, yet of Power, and of Love, and of a sound Mind.

As the people of the Living God, we should seek to avoid fear at all costs. That’s why God gave us numerous scriptures to motivate us beyond fear. God knows the diabolic and the crippling nature of fear.

Let us take a look at some scriptures that talk about fear, and let us believe God, that He Who is within us, is greater than the external factor of fear.

What The Bible Says About Fear


Isaiah 12:2 “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.”

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.


1 John 4:8 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.


Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.


Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe
