The Inner Man
You gaze and stray, you look then turn away,
You judge a cover within which plenitudes of beauty stay.
The beauty of a soul lies within its inner being,
Beneath the coat of the cover, every beauty’s seen.
You drift like a river; you sway with the mind,
But the charm of the heart is beneath the blind.
The imagery of a soldier lies, it tells a different tale,
Perception is opinion but the true spirit shall prevail.
I go in anger of human nature till I come to know,
That God is so great, He sees you deep below.
He sees the content of passion within the palest eyes,
He pampers the source where all such beauty lies.
You gaze and stray, you look then turn away,
Why judge a cover within which plenitudes of beauty stay!
