There is a glory at dawn that nourishes you through the day. It sings a song of hope, emphasizing that every little thing will be alright. I often sit in the morning sun and listen to the music of the new day. When I do, I feel most at peace. I also feel that I can be my best. Perhaps it’s the beauty of newness, or the freshness of God’s glory—but something truly special happens at dawn. It’s like the amazingness of Autumn that inspires our christian living.
One morning, I experienced the majesty of dawn like never before. I was visiting Ghana for the first time, and while sitting on the front porch of where I was staying, I heard music I had never heard before. Perhaps it was the African melody welcoming me home, or the sound of my ancestors rejoicing that I had finally made it. But I heard a song of tranquility, of peace. It was a spiritual moment I will never forget.
Being the writer I love to be, I grabbed my pen and paper and began to write. I penned this poem, which I titled “Glory at Dawn.” As you read it, may you come with me on this journey of healing and renewal. For certain, nature sings a song of hope and healing. Here it is.
Glory at Dawn
My eardrums kept ringing,
As the birds were singing.
And the dew kept clapping,
For such a glorious thing was happening.
The sunshine basked upon the trees,
As the wind came with freedom and ease.
All of these, whispered a hopeful tune,
And when morning surrendered, I heard them at noon.
Never gone too soon, they never seem to go away,
What melody of joy mother nature will play.
Even donkeys do bray, and dogs, they bark,
a serenity has ignited a twinkle little spark.
My meditation is stuck on the glory of dawn,
and the strings that encourage me to go on.
Thank You for a song – of hope and ease,
Jehovah my God, I thank You please.
