It’s true that God will never leave you or forsake you

He will never leave you nor forsake you

Have you ever been to a place where you question God’s presence? It’s really true that God will never leave you or forsake you. When things are going smoothly you won’t have a need to ask this question. Yet when the road is rocky, and lonely, we often ask “But where is God?”

I was having a conversation with a friend some time back. During the conversation I asked him if he had ever been to a place of nothingness. At that time I felt I was going through the desserts of life. Yet the Bible says “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” The fact is that God is with us even in our desserts.

He laughed and expressed that it wasn’t long ago where he experienced his own patch of darkness. The truth is that the road to light is often through darkness. Eggs are fertilized in darkness, seed germinate in darkness and we ourselves cultivate power in our own little patches of lightlessness.

What is more true is that as we face our darkness there is light. Consider that even though seeds germinate in darkness they must grow towards the light. Babies also develop in darkness but they must be born into light. As we face our own lightlessness we must know that there is hope.

God is with you in every dark place

As we continued the conversation my bredren and I established that God is with us in every dark place. Even though it might not always seem like this – but the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. The Bible says that His mercies never comes to an end.

As I travel my own journey I often feel like I am not deserving of God’s love. This is the reason why I wrote this blog post. I was in a situation where I questioned God’s closeness and faithfulness. What I’ve found is that God’s love and presence do not depend on a feeling but it is written in His truth.

The Bible says that He will never leave us nor forsake us. God’s presence is dependent on His faithfulness and His love.

Be Encouraged in your own darkness

You might feel the same way I felt, that God has forgotten about you. Your situation might even seem like this. But it is His word that stands. As we travel through our darkness we must know with all our hearts that even in death God is with us. In fact death doesn’t take away from the truth of God.

The truth is that it is written in the pure Word of God that He will be with us in every dark place. David the psalmist said Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. David found out that even when he is in hell God is with him.

God's Word Is Final Authority

It doesn’t matter what we think, feel or experience – it is the Word of God that stands. Many times our emotions are all over the place, but the truth of God is firm and stable. Nothing can be added or taken away from it.

We can either believe it, or not, but what we believe doesn’t take away from God’s truth. It only affects our reality. We can live a lie by believing it. But we cannot change the truth by believing a lie.

The Bible says that every word of God is pure, and that it is a shield for those who put their trust in Him. If we trust God then we will follow His word. His Word promises that He will never leave us not forsake us. Many people try to change the truth of God with complicated philosophies and teachings but the simple yet potent truth will always have final authority.

Often because of our difficulties this might not seem so, but it is always and forever true that God will be with us always. May you believe this truth and live by it. Be Blessed!
