20 THERAPEUTIC STATEMENTS THAT WILL BUFFER LIFE IN YOU

Have you ever been dead? Or, are you dead? Death as in, are you stuck in spiritual encounter that prevents you from doing the work of God. Be encouraged. This is not my endorsement for your deadness, but I want to point you to Life. Life is a person who wants to save you from your deadness. He died that you and I might live again.

The good news is, you can create life by speaking it into being. There are life saving I Am statements that can help you to do overcome any enemy. Regardless of your deadness, and nothingness, you can speak life into being.

The first step to do this is to seek the One who gives life. You can believe in Jesus Christ, and be saved, and receive the power to speak life. Jesus said “I am the truth, I am the way, I am the life.” He then proved this by raising Himself from the dead. In doing this, Jesus conquered death and the grave. Jesus used I am statements to justify His position of God. Some of Jesus’ popular I Am statements include;

  • I am the Bread of Life (John 6:35)
  • I am the Light of the World (John 8:12)
  • I am the Door (John 10:9)
  • I am the Good Shepherd (John 10:11,14)
  • I am the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25)
  • I am the Way and the Truth and the Life (John 14:6)
  • I am the Vine (John 15:1,5)
You can also make your own list of I Am statements that you can say out loud, whether to yourself or to the spiritual atmosphere. These statements will declare who you are, and justify your position as a child of the Living, Mighty and Everlasting God. We can say these statements with a conviction built upon the rock. They are powerful, and can heal you in your bleeding.

Words are sharp swords in the spirit. They can cut through the kingdom of darkness and free you to be who you declare in your I Am. For me, I reached times where I had no other alternative but to declare “I Am.” This is because I couldn’t see what I declared in the natural, but I saw it in the spirit. I had to learn to see the things I cannot see.

Doing this takes spiritual courage and a firm stance in God. We have to know from our deepest part that we are who God says we are. And we have to believe from the foundation of our spiritual bellies that what God says, is. We can do this and we must do it as we walk with God. The Bible says without faith it is impossible to please Him, and the truth is that this is 100% true. God is spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. This means that without delving into the spirit there can be no communication with God. It is by our faith that we delve into the spirit.

Let us take a look at 20 Life saving I Am statements that  give us the spiritual advantage over the enemy. As we speak these words to ourselves we will destroy the plan and the work of the enemy. We will also establish life in our deadness. Let’s go.

20 THERAPEUTIC STATEMENTS THAT WILL BUFFER LIFE IN YOU

1. I Am A Child Of God

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Knowing who you are is key to your spiritual survival. This is because your identity is your power. Firstly you must therefore know who you are. And then you must know what you are capable of. You are a child of God and you are capable of doing the work of God. You can reassure yourself on a regular that “I am a child of God, and I have been made to do the good work of God.” Whether you want to speak to yourself in the mirror, or sing it to yourself, these positive affirmations have the power to give you life.

The words that you speak to yourself have the power to resurrect you from the dead, as you believe. Be keen to speak power, and know that the words you speak are life giving ones.

2. I Have What It Takes

His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue.

You have what it takes. Whether you believe this or not, you are capable of doing the good works of God. This is mainly because of who you are and who makes this possible. The enemy will try to steal this knowledge away from us, yet we must guard it with all our hearts. We must constantly remind ourselves that we have what it takes, and we must not only remind ourselves but we must believe this truth.

As we seek spiritual therapy, we must constantly say “I Am.” As we declare this truth we will receive our portion.

3. God Is Good To Me

The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth.

We often say that God is good, which is 100 percent true. Yet we must go further with this statement and say “God is good to me.” You must claim ownership of your Godly inheritance through the shedding of the blood of Jesus Christ. There are times when we feel that God has forgotten us, or that we have been defeated by the enemy. Yet whatever goes against the goodness of God is not true for our lives. We must constantly remind ourselves that God is good to us personally, and that He will work all things to our advantage. We must program this truth on repeat in our minds and keep blazing fire in the enemy’s camp.

4. I Am An Overcomer

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

We must be fully convinced that God will help us to overcome the trials of life. It often appears that we have been defeated, yet it is not in the appearance but in the truth. The Bible says that man looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart. At the heart of the matter, we are overcomers. In the scripture found in Revelation 12:11 we learn that it is through the blood of the Lamb Christ Jesus, and by the word of our testimonies that we are overcomers. It is not by might, nor by power, but through the Spirit of God that we are and remain victorious.

5. God Is Always With Me

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

This is a statement that we will all need to say to ourselves. There have been times when it appeared that God was nowhere to be found. In these times, it appeared as if God had left me all alone. I know you might have also had your own moments of loneliness, yet it is true that He will never leave us or forsake us. I have found that God is very faithful concerning His promises towards us. We have an ever present God who is rich in grace and mercy.

We must drive this truth into our inner man by repetition of our faith. We must keep believing, and believing, until God makes it possible. Remember that with God all things are possible.

6. "Every challenge is an opportunity for growth and learning."

A Challenge is just a channel for growth

As we face our challenges, we must constantly remind ourselves that each challenge is a new opportunity for us to grow. As we seek to understand spiritual things we will learn that challenges are opportunities in disguise. Without a challenge we hardly ever grow. Yet as we are challenged, we learn to grow beyond these obstacles by getting stronger and more anointed than before. When we face our own challenges, we must say this to ourselves out loud “Every challenge is an opportunity to for me to grow.”

7. I Am Thankful For God's Goodness Towards Me

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

This is a therapeutic statement we can say to ourselves, that can trigger life in our deadness. We must be thankful to God for His goodness towards us. Gratitude is a weapon in the spirit that confuses the enemy. Paul admonishes us to give thanks in all situation, because it is the will of God for us. This is easy to believe when the situation is favourable. Yet, there are times when it appears there is no reason to give thanks. Nonetheless, regardless of the situation we find ourselves in, we must give thanks to God.

Our first breath of fresh air each morning is enough reason to give thanks. We can also look at the fact that we are alive and conscious. Set a reminder in your heart, that regardless of how bad things might seem, you will give thanks.

8. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)

8. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

We must constantly remind ourselves of the possibility we have in Jesus Christ. With Him all things are possible. As we face the situations that appear to be impossible, we must always remind ourselves that all things are possible when we believe.

9. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." - Psalm 23:1

Are you in need of a shepherd? Be joyful. We have a good shepherd who tends to His flock. Because of this, we can find rest in the goodness of God. As you feel unattended and alone, carefully remind yourself of the fact that we have a good shepherd who will never leave us or forsake us.

10. All Things Will Work Together For My Good

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

There have been times when I felt that my whole world was falling apart. In these difficult moments it is easy to give up and turn our back from the truth. Yet I have discovered that as we walk with God, He will cause all things to work together for our good. Our duty is to follow His word and to trust Him. When we do this we give ourselves the opportunity to experience God’s goodness.

11. I Am Forgiven and Redeemed

We must know that we have been forgiven and redeemed. As we go, the enemy will try to condemn us and tempt us to believe we have been forsaken. Yet Christ died on the cross to pay the debts of our sins. We can be confident that our sins have been forgiven, and that we can walk in newness of life. We can say this to ourselves on a regular basis as a reminder of the forgiveness we have in Jesus Christ.

12. I Have Power Over Demons and Devils And Over All the Affairs of the enemy

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

You must know you have power over all your enemies. We can do two things with this knowledge. We can believe it and use it to our advantage, or we can believe otherwise. Yet your unbelief does not change the truth, that you have power over all the affairs of the enemy. When Jesus Christ dies on the cross for you and I, He also gave us victory over the enemy and all his devices.

As we fall into temptation we must constantly remind ourselves of this power we have been given. We must say this to ourselves out load and keep our spirits with this good news.

13. I Am A Forgiver

Forgiving others is key to our own forgiveness. If we do not forgive others, our Father in heaven will also not forgive us. On the other hand, If we forgive one another, God will extend his mercies towards us without measure.

You can constantly say “I am a forgiver, I am a forgiver,” and then you can believe this with all your heart.

14. His Grace Is Sufficient For Me

As Paul struggled with the thorn in his flesh, he realized something wonderful about the grace of God. Paul, once a sinner, found that the grace of God was sufficient for him too. It was not only for Stephen and Silas, but Paul found that the grace of God was sufficient for him personally.

It’s amazing that the grace of God is sufficient for you too. Whoever you are and regardless of what you have done, His grace is sufficient for you. You can claim this inheritance you have in Jesus Christ and receive it by faith. The truth is that His grace is eternally abundant and is available to all you trust in Him.

15. His Mercy Is Available To Me

“For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”

As we look at Life saving I Am statements, we must never forget about God’s abounding mercies towards us. We must know this and also say it out loud to ourselves. By doing this, we feed our spirits with the good food of God.

God is not only rich in grace, but His mercy is also everlasting. This means that it can never run empty. Because of this, we can be fully convinced that His mercy is always available to us. In the book of lamentations we learn that The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;  His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Concluding Thoughts

We have learnt that there are life saving statements we can say to ourselves that can help us in our need. These statements will encourage life in us and help us to keep living unto God.

As we walk with God, we must say these statements out loud, and believe them. As we do this, they will breathe life in our deadness and keep us keeping on. God bless you.
